The pounamu is from Te Anau and a mid green ( not dark green) - and carved in Arrow town - South Island 

It has been photographed on and up to the light as the light does travel beautifully through this piece.

 They say Maori Greenstone (pounamu ) is a lovely soothing heart based stone to ease stress and depression.
